In the words of another fan: Today, I'm proud to be a Chelsea fan.We know we're good, but did we think we could ever be that good again?
Those days of 4-0 and 5-0 romps seem so long ago; if not for the fact that I had watched them, I'd be asking: Did we dream it all? . Instead, those bitter memories of that 3-0 thrashing at Old Trafford, and that heart-breaking 1-0 loss at Stamford Bridge that had seemed to doom our entire season come to mind.
We lost our record, we lost our faith.
Dumped out of the Carling Cup by Burnley.
Squandered the lead at the top of the EPL table.
Taunted that we have an ageing team that's too old to win anything.
Our season looked like another painful trophy-less pill to swallow.
But we had one last ace up our sleeve.
And so enter the REAL Messiah.
His name is Guus Hiddink.
If anyone had doubted that our season was far from over, let the message be clear: The Blues do not give up without a fight.
24 hours ago, Anfield had seemed like an impregnable fortress; only the impossible would save us now. Deep down inside, I was hoping for a draw. As long as we scored an away goal, we would have a decent chance of breaking them down at Stamford Bridge.
But The Golden Guus finally did what so many others had failed before him: He tactically outwitted the European master at his own game. Exploiting Benitez's favoured zonal marking system and deploying a 4-2-1-2-1 formation that completely snuffed out Gerrard and Torres; the Blues outjumped, outmuscled and outran Liverpool. 2 Ivanovic headers and a bonus goal from Drogba inflicted the worst European home defeat for Liverpool ever.
They can bleat about their missing Mascheranos and their simpering Skrtels. But last night, the better team won.
After the dream start from that early Torres goal, it looks like Liverpool's European 'dreams' are in shatters. Anything can happen, but nobody can see Liverpool putting 3 past Petr Cech at the Bridge next week.
A statement of intent in true blue (pun intended!) style. You have been warned :D

Stand on the hill
Feel the breeze
Whip your hair about
Smell the leaves
Lift your arms
See the cascade
Of verdant petals
Feel the gentle
Whisper on your skin
Reach out
And grasp one
Tear it in pieces
Let it go to the wind
See it whisked away
To lands unknown
Spinning and spiralling
Then lost in the horizon
A new journey
Unseen by mine eyes.
